There are times in life when we all come up against emotional difficulties. If, in those times we feel unable to talk to family or friends, talking to an experienced, suitably qualified counsellor can help. People come to counselling because they want help to change their life in some way.  It may be to get support in coping through a difficult emotional crisis, or to gain a general better understanding of themselves and to feel more in tune with others.

My name is Gillian, I am a qualified, experienced counsellor, psychotherapist and counselling supervisor; established in Chesterfield for over ten years.  I have more than twenty-five years’ experience in the field of organizational training, teaching and personal development, and I am founder of The Inner Clarity Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The center provides  a calm welcoming therapy space where clients feel safe and at ease, and where I work alongside associate therapists who are specialists in their field of work. At Inner Clarity we aim to offer an appointment within three days, however if you are in acute distress and feel you need immediate emotional assistance please see useful links.

BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy)

I am a member of the BACP and listed on their register for Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Supervisor & Trainer. The Association sets, promotes and maintains standards for the profession. The Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy with its Professional Conduct Procedure ensures that members of BACP abide by an accepted and approved code of conduct and accountability.
